10. Happy Ending in Reading and Writing for Academic Purposes II class

I felt little nervous after I know I have to study Reading and Writing for Academic Purposes II. I thought I may not have a good point from this course or I may make Aj. Usa disappointed me.

I like to read English text but usually did not understand and have to use dictionary for translation. I have a problem with remembering vocabulary since I started learning English.
While I studying in this course, Aj. Usa let us read many texts that academic. I had to read it and wrote again in my own word. It was very hard for me. Sometimes I used word in wrong function and sometimes I cannot remain the same meaning and write a new sentence in my words but. When Aj. Usa checked my work and feed backed to me it make me know what is my mistake and try to understand.

I had 2 presentations in this class. Before I presented I try to pronounce the word in correctly but I have many mistakes while I presented it. Presentation of research article made me and my friends tense. I passed in the first time that made me surprise. I had read other articles of my friends for helping them that made me know my reading skill improving a lot.

I like writing blog task because I always connect the Internet for many activities. I like to typed my opinion in the blog that Aj. Usa asked me to write. I like to read my friends’ opinions and comment them in my thinking.

I want to say thank Aj. Usa so much that she try to teach us with high patience. I know sometime she did not happy with us but she try to cool her temper. I love her so much and will try to teach my students like she teach us. I wish all of my friends in this class get lucky in the future. I love them and will not forget them. SEE YOU AGAIN!

9. Concern about Global Issues

There are many troubles that are affecting the world today. The environment and human actions towards other humans are a big to mention. There are a lot of issues in my friends’ presentations such as: racism, health, women right, Hunger, Rising water problem, …... These make me feel about the bad situation of the world.

For me, a big issue for this time is Global warming. The damage of it caused includes: air and water pollution, crop damage, extreme weather conditions (hurricanes, flooding, rainfall, etc.), destruction of ecological systems and habitats, as well as posing health risks for many. Another serious effect is the melting of ice caps, resulting in rising sea levels. The east coast of Canada is one of many areas at risk of increased flooding.

If we don’t take action now, our children and grandchildren will grow up in a very different world from the one we enjoy today.

My friend presented me about many children were died in Africa because they did not have any food. I felt so sad and want to help them if I can. I am very rich when I compare with them.

I have dreamed about travel around the world and envy someone who can do like that. I want to see many beautiful places that I had saw in the picture or TV. I bored view in my home town. My friends show me about pollutions: air, water around the world. Someone have to use their life with pollution that they cannot choose. That make me know I am very lucky because my hometown has fresh air. I have a lot of Oxygen in my blood when I breathe. My hometown is the best place for me.

I have thought I don’t have a comfortable life because sometime I have to do something that I don’t want to do. I always wanted to eat, sleep, watch TV, listen radio and didn’t want to do everything that my mom asked me to do when I was young. After I listened my friend presented about child labor it make me know I am very comfortable when I was young. Thanks a Million to my mom that she didn’t ask me to do like those children in my friend’s presentation.

Maybe in a few time we will not have any place for living if we ignore a problem that we can do something for solving. We should do everything as much as we can for holding this global.

8. Climate Change

Global warming is an average increase in the Earth’s temperature. It was from greenhouse gases trapping energy in the atmosphere, causing our world to heat up. Main gases in atmosphere are carbon dioxide(Co2): burning coal, oil, and gas to produce energy in industrial, chlorofluorocarbons(CFCs): using CFC’s in refrigeration, air-conditioning, aerosols, and other application, methane(CH4): a massive expansion of rice growing and cattle farming. The higher of temperature in the Earth can destroy natural ecosystems, agriculture, and human settlements.

We can see the sign of global disaster from climate change that causing of glaciers melts and sea level rises. The examples of incidents are Tsunami in Indonesia and Thailand, Flooding in China, and storm in Burma and USA.

These can show in a short time our children may have a big problem from this phenomenon. Majority of scientists ask for saving this world by starting from industrialization: conserve energy and replace fossil fuels with alternative energy.

All of plans for helping the world would cannot successful if all of us do not try together: scientists, public, and government. It is not too late if we start from this day. PLESE SAVE THE WORLD!

7. My Happy New Year

New year is not special for me.

31st, November, 2008, I watched TV with my friends: Fine and Sa at my dormitory. We did not back home because we did not have money enough. After passed midnight, I felt so sad because I missed my family and my old friends so much. I tried to send massages to them but I could not like Sa and Fine because network was busy.
1st, January, 2009, I stayed at my room all day. It was bad time for me. I had heard the bad news about fire took place at Santika pub. A lot of people were dead and injured on New Year. It made me so sad. I wanted to make a merit for them soon.

2nd, January, 2009, Sa, Fine, and I went to Damnoen Saduak district to visit Pee Yong: the older student at our major. When we arrived we went to made merit at the temple.

3rd, January, 2009, we went to visited Floating Market: Damnoen Saduak. There are a lot of tourists. We ate noodle for breakfast. I had talked with a tourist from Singapore. She is very pretty and good at English. We backed to dormitory at the afternoon.

One year a go, I counted down with my friends on MSN because I stayed alone at my dormitory. This New Year is not special day for me like every year in the past and many years next times. Although I stay alone but I never feel alone because I always have good friends in my mind. I love them and want to tell them “THANK YOU so much”.
