10. Happy Ending in Reading and Writing for Academic Purposes II class

I felt little nervous after I know I have to study Reading and Writing for Academic Purposes II. I thought I may not have a good point from this course or I may make Aj. Usa disappointed me.

I like to read English text but usually did not understand and have to use dictionary for translation. I have a problem with remembering vocabulary since I started learning English.
While I studying in this course, Aj. Usa let us read many texts that academic. I had to read it and wrote again in my own word. It was very hard for me. Sometimes I used word in wrong function and sometimes I cannot remain the same meaning and write a new sentence in my words but. When Aj. Usa checked my work and feed backed to me it make me know what is my mistake and try to understand.

I had 2 presentations in this class. Before I presented I try to pronounce the word in correctly but I have many mistakes while I presented it. Presentation of research article made me and my friends tense. I passed in the first time that made me surprise. I had read other articles of my friends for helping them that made me know my reading skill improving a lot.

I like writing blog task because I always connect the Internet for many activities. I like to typed my opinion in the blog that Aj. Usa asked me to write. I like to read my friends’ opinions and comment them in my thinking.

I want to say thank Aj. Usa so much that she try to teach us with high patience. I know sometime she did not happy with us but she try to cool her temper. I love her so much and will try to teach my students like she teach us. I wish all of my friends in this class get lucky in the future. I love them and will not forget them. SEE YOU AGAIN!

9. Concern about Global Issues

There are many troubles that are affecting the world today. The environment and human actions towards other humans are a big to mention. There are a lot of issues in my friends’ presentations such as: racism, health, women right, Hunger, Rising water problem, …... These make me feel about the bad situation of the world.

For me, a big issue for this time is Global warming. The damage of it caused includes: air and water pollution, crop damage, extreme weather conditions (hurricanes, flooding, rainfall, etc.), destruction of ecological systems and habitats, as well as posing health risks for many. Another serious effect is the melting of ice caps, resulting in rising sea levels. The east coast of Canada is one of many areas at risk of increased flooding.

If we don’t take action now, our children and grandchildren will grow up in a very different world from the one we enjoy today.

My friend presented me about many children were died in Africa because they did not have any food. I felt so sad and want to help them if I can. I am very rich when I compare with them.

I have dreamed about travel around the world and envy someone who can do like that. I want to see many beautiful places that I had saw in the picture or TV. I bored view in my home town. My friends show me about pollutions: air, water around the world. Someone have to use their life with pollution that they cannot choose. That make me know I am very lucky because my hometown has fresh air. I have a lot of Oxygen in my blood when I breathe. My hometown is the best place for me.

I have thought I don’t have a comfortable life because sometime I have to do something that I don’t want to do. I always wanted to eat, sleep, watch TV, listen radio and didn’t want to do everything that my mom asked me to do when I was young. After I listened my friend presented about child labor it make me know I am very comfortable when I was young. Thanks a Million to my mom that she didn’t ask me to do like those children in my friend’s presentation.

Maybe in a few time we will not have any place for living if we ignore a problem that we can do something for solving. We should do everything as much as we can for holding this global.

8. Climate Change

Global warming is an average increase in the Earth’s temperature. It was from greenhouse gases trapping energy in the atmosphere, causing our world to heat up. Main gases in atmosphere are carbon dioxide(Co2): burning coal, oil, and gas to produce energy in industrial, chlorofluorocarbons(CFCs): using CFC’s in refrigeration, air-conditioning, aerosols, and other application, methane(CH4): a massive expansion of rice growing and cattle farming. The higher of temperature in the Earth can destroy natural ecosystems, agriculture, and human settlements.

We can see the sign of global disaster from climate change that causing of glaciers melts and sea level rises. The examples of incidents are Tsunami in Indonesia and Thailand, Flooding in China, and storm in Burma and USA.

These can show in a short time our children may have a big problem from this phenomenon. Majority of scientists ask for saving this world by starting from industrialization: conserve energy and replace fossil fuels with alternative energy.

All of plans for helping the world would cannot successful if all of us do not try together: scientists, public, and government. It is not too late if we start from this day. PLESE SAVE THE WORLD!

7. My Happy New Year

New year is not special for me.

31st, November, 2008, I watched TV with my friends: Fine and Sa at my dormitory. We did not back home because we did not have money enough. After passed midnight, I felt so sad because I missed my family and my old friends so much. I tried to send massages to them but I could not like Sa and Fine because network was busy.
1st, January, 2009, I stayed at my room all day. It was bad time for me. I had heard the bad news about fire took place at Santika pub. A lot of people were dead and injured on New Year. It made me so sad. I wanted to make a merit for them soon.

2nd, January, 2009, Sa, Fine, and I went to Damnoen Saduak district to visit Pee Yong: the older student at our major. When we arrived we went to made merit at the temple.

3rd, January, 2009, we went to visited Floating Market: Damnoen Saduak. There are a lot of tourists. We ate noodle for breakfast. I had talked with a tourist from Singapore. She is very pretty and good at English. We backed to dormitory at the afternoon.

One year a go, I counted down with my friends on MSN because I stayed alone at my dormitory. This New Year is not special day for me like every year in the past and many years next times. Although I stay alone but I never feel alone because I always have good friends in my mind. I love them and want to tell them “THANK YOU so much”.

6. Slave fashion

What do you think about fashion?

Is it something you have to follow?

Is it a way to express you?

In my way, fashion is something different. It is good idea to be fashion fan but not fashion slave. I try to follow fashion because I don’t want to be different from other, but I don’t want to spend all my pocket money for following the latest fashion trend. It may be good if you use your imagination to create your own personal style of clothing but I can’t because I am not creative person. My style is depending on the culture that surrounds me. I always buy the trendy clothes for reasonable price. When I choose the clothing to wear I always think about appropriate in the first and comfortable in the second. I am sure we all need to feel comfortable in what we wear.

I don’t care of people who are fashionable if they spend their money to buy clothes. Someone have a lot of money to buy everything. It is better if they think about poor people or someone who is far from food or fashion. A little money from buying latest fashion trend may can help them. Do not think only about yourself and use a little time to think of other together.

Someone said “No harm in wanting to dress attractively, but we shouldn’t become obsessed with fashion.”

What do you think about that?

For me, I fully agree with the sentence.

In the past time, people always stay closely the nature like they are a unit of it. The people didn’t know how to cook variously ways. They ate everything in fresh that made them received some toxin but less than good substance because all plans in the past were grown up in pure nature. The plans didn’t have a lot of chemical. After that, people learned about how to change something with someone. The process was developed to the market that they can bought something from there. People still like to eat nutritious food. They always cook their food by themselves with the natural ingredients that they grown or bough from the market.
In this time, the modern societies make people don’t care about nutritious food. They are very busy from their work and their life. They can eat whatever foods that don’t make them to be complicated. There are many kinds of foods in the market some are healthy or not. Many people seem to like unhealthy food more than healthy food such as fast food. They haven’t known where were ingredients from or how were plans grown. All these reasons show you about people in earlier times ate better than people in the current.

4. I both agree and disagree on the idea of using people for the experiment.

Most people may don’t agree with the idea to use human or animal for the experiment. In other way, it’s difficult to understand creature mental unless experiment them. I have heard about using mice in experiment. What do you think about that? In my opinion, I think it is unfair for them to sacrifice themselves for human. All mice may didn’t pleasure but we don’t know because we can’t ask them and they can’t tell us. Sometime we have to use human for the experiment if we don’t have any choice. I agree with that. People have to devote themselves for using the advantage from experiment to develop their life in the future if it isn’t more dangerous.

3. Why I Never Want to Get Married

I ever dream of a successful family but many reasons make me want to live alone. I always believe in true love but I don’t believe in a man who always says “I love you”. I always promise myself, I will be honest in my love but I’m not sure I can find a man who thinks like me and can do that.
There are many people who never marry and live alone all their lives by choice, not because they have to. If I single, I will have more time to devote to my family, my work, my close friendships and myself because I don’t have to spend so much time to take care my husband. In addition, I can do what ever I wanted, I can go where ever I like, I don’t have to cook if I don’t want, I don’t have to talk unless I want to, and the important reason, I don’t have to adapt myself to my husband, his family, and his friends.
In contrasting, for my highest dream, I want to have my own children without husband. What should I do?

2. After reading the text "Adulthood"

Before reading the text “Adulthood”, I never seriously asked myself about my married in the future because I feared to raise a family. I always asked myself about how I can take care my family in the best, how can I make as much money as possible. It can help my family a lot. After I read, I add 2 questions in my mind.
The first question is should I have children. Because I think they can be fill up my life in the future I am sure. The second question is do I need more education. Because after I talked with my friends that make me know about the bachelor’s degree is not enough for me.

1. My experience teaching

I had taught in Mathayomthanbinkamphangsan school for 1 year (2 semesters). In my first semester, I taught 1 class from mattayom 1 and 2 classes from mattayom 2. They are very differences styles that made me tense. I started being friendly with them, told about myself and asked them to tell me about themselves too. I tried to use English in my class but my students didn’t understand. Moreover, I had a lot of problems in my teaching such as technical teaching, grammar, pronunciation, writing lesson plan and controlling classes. One of the biggest problems is most of my students come from very poor English language background like many students of my friends in other schools.
The second semester, I taught 3 classes from mattayom 2. My students in this semester were a lot of talk. They didn’t listen to me when I taught. I solved this problem by warning them for the first time and if they didn’t stop I will asked them about the lesson. Most of my students always late, I warned them in early semester and punished them if they still late in after that. I usually punished them by asked they to do some exercise or make meditation in front of the class. I always discussed about the problems in the classes with my friends, my co-teacher, other English teacher there and my teacher from University. They advised me in verities ways to solve my problems.
In addition, I had a lot of good experiences with students in other classes and teachers in other programs. I worked with them in extra duty except teaching. They helped me to learn about how to use my life in school and society.
Thank you for every one who helps me so much. One year in my training teaching is too much for me trying to be a good teacher in next time.
